Our Licensed Opticians contain specialized training and many years of experience in the fitting, measuring, adjusting, and prescribing of frames and lenses.

All of our doctors are established by the standards of the American Board of Optometry. We practice scientific, evidence-based medicine with an emphasis on safety and preventative medicine. We are capable of diagnosing and treating the full gamut of eye problems faced by our community, including diabetes, high blood pressure, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. We also prescribe glasses and are able to fit difficult contact lens prescriptions.

We have added a new eye doctor which gives us the flexibility to schedule your appointment quickly at one of our two locations. Even “after hours” or on weekends, our doctor on call will promptly service your emergent eye care needs.

6. Broad Insurance Coverage
We accept the majority of medical insurance and vision plans. Call us to inquire we are on your plan. We also accept patients without insurance (self-pay) and Care Credit. Accepting VSP, Eyemed, BCBS, United Healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid, Health Spring, Amerigroup, Block Vision, United Healthcare, Community Health Scope Plan, Americhoice, March Vision.

7. Optical Department
Each of our offices has a full-service optical department where you can purchase glasses or contacts. Our opticians have many years of experience and can very well explain if there are questions about your prescription, frames, or lenses. We are also involved with several vision plans that may cover your glasses.

8. Friendly Staff
Our staff is here to help you! Sumner Eye Care provides you with care from some of the most welcoming optometric assistants, technicians, and opticians in the area. Many of our staff have been employed for decades, with years of experience in refraction, contact lens insertion & removal, medical photography, medical eye testing, and medical treatment. This means you’ll receive a friendly and experienced staff member who will walk you through your entire appointment.
